Abacus trade was born from the dream of two women devoted to social justice. They travel to Asia and deal directly with producers, artists, collective organizations, small entrepreneurs or family businesses – all with fair business practices in mind. And they find some extraordinary and exquisite things – things which respect artistic and cultural traditions, but which have a cosmopolitan edge.

Melanie and Laura have created a warm, personal, and yet elegant environment where they will happily relate to you the stories behind their unique stock – or just leave you alone to make your own discoveries.
