Market March Break

Looking to do something with the family in the ByWard Market? Here are some great ideas and activities happening.

Artistic Underground:

  • Take a stand on diversity and inclusion
  • Presented by the National Gallery of Canada’s Teen Council
  • Thursday March 13, 2008 from 12 to 8 pm
  • Hosted by Jennifer Hollett and Amanda Putz
  • Featuring live music and performances by:
    Crush Luther, The Love Machine, Ukrainia, Antizario, Sufi Girl, DJ D-Mass, Celpto and The Lost Cypsies, Canadian Floormasters, The Canadian Capoeira group, Capital Poetry Collective Collective.
  • Alternative fashion show
  • Art workshop
    With Graham Robinson, Michèle Provost and Graham Thompson
  • Teen Art Exhibit

March Break Camp

  • Form, Function and Fine Art
    Participants will show off their talent by creating designer art toys called “Munnys,” a Mondrian-inspired chair, a table made of stretched canvas, an art deco coat hook, lunchbox, clock, and a Japanese stained-glass folding screen. For children ages 8 to 12. Cost: $170 (Members $150). Pre and post-care available for an additional $30 per child. Registration required at 613-998-8888. Tickets on sale now.


More great places to visit are Sassy Bead where you can book a party to make great accessories, go on a haunted walk of Ottawa if you dare, visit the Royal Canadian Mint, or one of our many galleries or maybe stop in for a beavertail while you’re walking around doing some shopping.
