Things to do in the ByWard Market:

Did you know the Market is the home of Beavertails (come visit).

You can pick up Canadian souvenirs at Maple Leaf souvenirs and Canada in a Basket.

You can keep warm at Studio xoxo, pick up toques, scarves, and mitts. Expedition Shoppe, Irving Rivers and Lou’s Boot Corner also have a vatriety of gifts to keep you warm in the winter.

Stroll around and look for some iconic entertainment – like Lucky Ron at the Lafayette Hotel. Visit one of our many coffee & tea shops for some warm drinks.

Don’t forget to pick up some Canadian Maple Syrup available at many locations throughout the market.

If it’s real authentic Canadiana you seek, visit the local galleries and get a feel for what the whole country has to offer. The National Art Gallery is right around the corner, and the Terrance Robert Gallery features wonderful Canadian landscapes.

When you’re looking for the National Art Gallery, just keep an eye out for world famous MAMAN, she’s a 30-foot spider who keeps a watchful eye on the gallery and her 26 marble egg babies.

Don’t forget the fill your tummy’s any time, there are over 50 restaurants to choose from.

Welcome to the ByWard Market if you have any questions at all while visiting, stop by the info desk in the Market Building!

There’s always something happening in the market!
