Food - Fashion - Flavours
We've planned a special long weekend to showcase ByWard's amazing array of food, fashion and flavours. ByWard's food will be offered in cooking classes and tasting opportunities using some of the Market's great local produce and specialty foods in some of our almost 100 restaurants and 35 food stores. The latest fashions for you and your home from our over 100 boutiques will be on display in creative settings and locations. And ByWard's flavours - art, special beverages, music and entertainment will be offered in our galleries, bookstores and over 35 pubs, bars and nightclubs!

Murray Street Progressive Apple Dinner
An appetizing evening - Start your night at one of ByWard's amazing restaurants then travel to the next restaurant to for your next course. An apple filled four course meal awaits you on Murray Street. Get to know where your food comes from - Bistro will be using apples from their very own trees, Sweetgrass Aboriginal Bistro is supplied with apples from Halls Apple Orchard, Domus Café is supplied by Harvest Moon Orchards and Black Cat Café is supplied by Kilmanick Orchard. Tickets are limited so reserve your place quickly by contacting the participating restaurants. Tickets are $52 a person, ticket sales begin on Friday October 5th. Click here to see the menu.

It's the wine and food pairing experience of the year when the National Capital Sommelier Guild's Wine Person of the Year 2006 - Stacey Metulynsky of Groovy Grapes joins forces with Canadian Culinary Federation's Regional Chef of the Year 2006 - Courtyard Restaurant Executive Chef Marc Lépine. 5 Course tasting menu paired with 2 wines for each course. Enlightening discussions by both experts. $125.00 per person plus taxes and gratuity. Reservations required. Seating is limited.

Champagne and eggs? The perfect combination. Enjoy a relaxing brunch paired with 3 different sparkling wines selected by award-winning wine event company Groovy Grapes. Shafali Restaurant and Shafali Bazaar will be teaming up with Ecology Ottawa (www.ecologyottawa.ca) to bring you a green Tastes of ByWard! Bring in a reusable container to either Shafali Restaurant or Shafali Bazaar for your lefovers and receive a 10% discount off your meal. While there, you can learn how Ecology Ottawa is working towards a greener Ottawa, and find out how you can take action to reduce your environmental impact.
Both the Restaurant and Bazaar are easily accessible by OC Transpo, bicycle or warlking so leave the car at home!

With the change in season comes the change in meal preparation. We shift from BBQ and Salads to indoor cooking. We have restocked our in-house made-from-scratch meat pies for this fall. The selection includes our traditional Tourtiere (from an old Aubrey Family Recipe), Beef and Kidney pie, Mixed Game Pie (with eight different Game meats), Chicken Pot and Turkey Pot Pies.

Runway to a Cure for Cancer
This fashion show will feature designer's from Ottawa's best boutiques which include J Michaels, Bana Republic, Femme Carriere, and Amuse Boutique. Tickets are $40 per person and include dinner. A cash bar will also be available on those evenings. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Informal modelling starts at 7:00 pm and dinner will follow immediately after the show. Prizes will be awarded during the evening to guests. Proceeds will be donated to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.
