Kick off Artwalk Ottawa’s 2025 season with Sobey Art Award short-lister Tania Willard, and prominent local journalist Lucy van Oldenbarneveld.

The afternoon begins with a conversation in the Gallery’s outdoor amphitheatre – the perfect setting to begin a tour of the ByWard Market’s rich and vibrant art scene.

Artwalk Ottawa features the National Gallery of Canada, the Ottawa Art Gallery, and private galleries where participants will meet some of the galleries’ artists. The walk ends with a reception at the Ottawa Art Gallery, where participants will be able to browse current exhibitions.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation is available for the 2:00 – 2:45 p.m. conversation portion of the program, when requested a minimum of 10 business days in advance of the event. Email info@gallery.ca with the event name, date and time.  

Artwalk is organized by the National Gallery of Canada, the Ottawa Art Gallery, and the ByWard Market District Authority. 
Proceeds raised will be shared with local organizations supporting people who are homeless.

Participating Galleries

  • National Gallery of Canada Amphitheatre

    The National Gallery of Canada Amphitheatre is an outdoor venue located at the front of the building. It serves as a space for various public events, such as summer concerts, artist talks, and other community programs, though indoor events are moved to the Gallery's Auditorium in case of inclement weather.

  • Ottawa Art Gallery

    The Ottawa Art Gallery is a municipal gallery in Ottawa, Ontario that opened in 1988 at Arts Court. The gallery has a permanent collection of over one thousand works, houses the City of Ottawa-owned Firestone Collection of Canadian Art, and provides community, educational and public programming.

  • L.A. Pai Gallery

    L. A. Pai Gallery provides an unusual introduction to contemporary Canadian art and art jewelry. The gallery, run by Lisa A. Pai since 2000, focuses on emerging and established artists of outstanding skill and creative vision. Figurative, conceptual, political, and traditional approaches share space. From rural and urban communities including Nunavut in the North, the artists create the singular energy of the gallery.

  • Galerie d'art Jean-Claude Bergeron

    Founded in 1992, the Galerie d’art Jean-Claude Bergeron is located in downtown Ottawa in close proximity of the By-Ward Market and a step away from the National Gallery of Canada. It is situated in a heritage Victorian residence “La Maison Rochon”, named for one of the principal wood carvers of the nearby Notre-Dame Basilica.

  • Galerie St-Laurent + Hill

    Galerie St-Laurent Hill is Ottawa’s leading contemporary art gallery. Founded in 1977, with a focus on painting, photography and sculpture, our gallery has been assisting collectors, both private and corporate, for over 40 years.

  • Trebor Art Gallery (Studio)

    Trebor’s approach to the treatments of colour and light is without equal as a visual artist. He engages colour as an expressive element by using daring, vibrant and brilliant tones. The creation of balance within his paintings is magnified by his distinctive exploitation of form and space, groundbreaking light diffusion techniques that enhances depth and dimension plus the simplicity of his subject matter all combine together to create never-before-seen art works.

  • Gordon Harrison Canadian Landscape Gallery

    The Gordon Harrison Canadian Landascape Gallery is a boutique gallery owned by the artist and his partner, Phil Émond. The gallery features original oil Canadian landfscape paintings by award winning Canadian landscape artist Gordon Harrison and art work from guest artists.

  • Pai Jewllery

    Pai Jewellery, a contemporary Canadian art jewellery and sculptural arts retailer and the retail arm of the L.A. Pai Gallery in Ottawa, Canada. Founded by Lisa A. Pai in 2000, the gallery and its retail space focus on showcasing and selling works from both emerging and established Canadian artists across various media, including jewellery, prints, ceramics, glass, and textiles.

  • Ottawa School of Art

    The Ottawa School of Art offers a full range of specialized art courses including lifedrawing, landscape painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture, lithography, watercolour, etching, printmaking, and a wide variety of specialized short courses and workshops.

  • Gallery 55

    Located in the historic ByWard Market, Gallery 55 offers a unique, central exhibition in the heart of Ottawa. Home to many unique shops and artisans.
