Ottawa Markets and the ByWard Market Business Improvement Area have amalgamated to form the ByWard Market District Authority (BMDA)!
The BMDA will continue to support businesses and the public markets within our city - with an expanded mandate of revitalizing our beloved market district. Executive Director of the BMDA, Zachary Dayler, spoke to The Ottawa Business Journal (OBJ) to shed light on the important work ahead for the district.
Ottawa Markets Launches Producers-Only York Street Farmer’s Market
Marché d’Ottawa Markets launches the York Street Farmers’ Market on Saturdays in ByWard. Starting in May and running through to October 9th, 2021, Ottawa is invited down to rediscover the historic heart of the City and experience some of the best produce our region has to offer!
What is in a public realm plan
City Council unanimously approved the ByWard Market Public Realm Plan(link is external) on January 27, 2021, which is a document to guide the evolution of the Market’s public spaces and provides a framework to coordinate investment opportunities.
