A Real Walk of Art
Art can turn even the coldest stone into a creation filled with life. It breathes essence into everything, from sound to matter.
Can you imagine a world without it?
To celebrate Ottawa’s art scene and underline the role art plays in shaping everyday life, the National Gallery of Canada (NGC), the Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG), and the ByWard Market District Authority present Artwalk Ottawa 2025. This year’s edition offers an afternoon tour of public and private galleries, combining exhibitions with conversations that bring audiences closer to the artists and curators shaping today’s cultural landscape.
Here is what to expect:
Kickoff at the National Gallery: Opening talk with Tania Willard and curator Rachelle Dickenson, beside Louise Bourgeois’ Maman sculpture.
Gallery Walks: Explore participating galleries at your own pace with a self-guided tour.
Talks at OAG: Artist spot talks and curator conversations in the exhibition Endless Becomings: Explorations in Contemporary Art, with the chance to connect with Ottawa Art Gallery curators.
Reception: End the day with a glass of bubbly and engage with Canada’s next generation of artists.
