Survey: Night Ambassador Pilot Program
We are pleased to report on the conclusion of the Night Ambassador Pilot Program, an initiative created by the ByWard Market District Authority (BMDA) and funded by the City of Ottawa's Nightlife Office. This program was implemented to enhance the visitor experience and support public safety during the district's busiest evening and late-night hours.
The Night Ambassadors achieved significant engagement:
At mid-point, the program provided assistance and guidance through 549 recorded interactions, supporting over 1,100 people.
Peak interaction times were between 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.
The highest demand was concentrated on York Street, Clarence Street, and ByWard Market Square, reflecting key nightlife hubs.
The Night Ambassadors successfully provided an approachable, community-focused presence that complemented existing measures, such as the Ottawa Police Service's Market Safe initiative.
The pilot has wrapped up, and we are now collecting crucial data. We urge you to share your perspective on how the Night Ambassadors' presence impacted your business and customers as well as the overall night-time environment. Your detailed feedback is essential to evaluate the program, drive improvements, and justify its continued operation and growth.
Please take a moment to complete the survey and contribute to the successful continuation of this service. The deadline to complete this survey is December 7th.
Thank you for your valuable time and cooperation.
