Funding Opportunity: ByWard Market 200th Tourism Animation Fund
In 2027, the ByWard Market will celebrate its 200th anniversary and Ottawa Tourism is launching a new funding opportunity to help bring exciting visitor experiences to life throughout this milestone year.
The ByWard Market 200th Tourism Animation Fund is a one-time, application-based program supporting tourism businesses and organizations in developing engaging, high-quality products, programming and experiences that celebrate the Market’s history, legacy and culture while strengthening Ottawa as a leading tourism destination.
Program Details:
Activations must take place between January 1 and December 31, 2027.
Priority consideration will be given to initiatives that align with at least three of the following areas:
• Arts
• Culture
• Festivals
• Nightlife
• Culinary
• Diversity and Inclusion
• Official Languages
• Indigenous Experiences
Application period : September 22 – November 3, 2026

Ahead of the application period, Ottawa Tourism and the ByWard Market District Authority (BMDA) will co-host a virtual information session to walk prospective applicants through the fund, its objectives and the application process.
