Cinq à Sept is back with live music every Thursday evening at ByWard Square (55 Byward Market Square). From jazz, blues, and rockabilly to folk, flamenco, and acoustic sets, the series brings local and regional talents to the heart of Ottawa for lively evenings, good company, and new sounds to discover.

Jacob
Wutzke Trio
Drummer, bandleader, and composer Jacob Wutzke brings joyful swing, sharp musicianship, and original jazz compositions to the stage. A respected performer and educator, Wutzke has played with leading artists across Canada and beyond, while continuing to tour with his own dynamic groups.

Barrow Gang Buskers
The Barrow Gang Buskers bring rockabilly flair, colourful characters, and plenty of playful energy to every show. Blending classic rockabilly favourites with original songs, this Ottawa group has become a local favourite for lively performances that get audiences smiling, dancing, and joining the fun.

& Cindy Goldberg
Spencer Scharf & Cindy Goldberg are an Ottawa-area acoustic duo known for warm, heartfelt performances rooted in folk, blues, roots, and sing-along favourites. With guitar, harmonica, percussion, and an easygoing chemistry, they create a relaxed, feel-good musical experience for all ages.
Three for a Buck
JULY 30 | 5 PM – 9 pmThree for a Buck delivers a lively mix of traditional country, rockabilly, hillbilly, and early rock ’n’ roll. With tight musicianship, vintage charm, and a whole lot of rhythm, this Ottawa trio brings an old-school good-time sound built for toe-tapping and dancing.
Nick Maclean Jazz
AUGUST 13 | 5 PM – 9 pmJUNO-nominated jazz pianist Nick Maclean is one of Canada’s leading voices in contemporary jazz. Known for his expressive playing and bold musical range, Maclean brings together hard-swinging jazz, electric influences, and adventurous improvisation for a performance that is both polished and exploratory.
Jeanne Truax Band
August 27 | 5 PM – 9 pmJeanne Truax brings roots-rock and indie-folk energy to the stage with a vintage-inspired sound and a vibrant live presence. Blending early rock ’n’ roll spirit with modern Canadiana, her music pairs upbeat retro colour with thoughtful songwriting and plenty of charm.
Brownman Electric Trio
SEPTEMBER 10 | 5 PM – 7 pmLed by award-winning trumpeter Brownman Ali, the Brownman Electric Trio delivers a high-voltage mix of jazz fusion, funk grooves, and fearless improvisation. Inspired by Miles Davis’ electric era, the trio pushes contemporary jazz into bold, energetic, and unpredictable territory.
Amanda Keeley
SEPTEMBER 24 | 5 PM – 9 pmAmanda Keeley is a Canadian indie-folk singer-songwriter whose soulful music blends folk, R&B, and pop influences. With rich vocals and heartfelt storytelling, she creates an intimate sound that bridges timeless folk traditions with a modern, emotionally honest edge.

Tony Komery brings the passion and rhythm of flamenco guitar to the heart of the Market. Inspired by artists such as Paco de Lucía and the Gipsy Kings, Komery blends technical skill, global influences, and expressive musicianship into a performance full of warmth and movement.
The Vaudevillian
August 6 | 5 PM – 9 pmThe Vaudevillian brings the spirit of the 1920s roaring back with ragtime blues, jugband energy, vintage instruments, and old-time charm. With resonator guitar, washboard, banjo, jug, and spoons, the duo delivers a playful, foot-stomping performance full of character.
Happy Crap
AUGUST 20 | 5 PM – 9 pmHappy Crap is a high-spirited folk trio from Prescott, Ontario, known for Celtic influences, East Coast flavour, humour, and sing-along energy. Their shows feel like a gathering of friends, full of stories, laughter, warm harmonies, and music made for audience participation.
Pat Johnson & Billy MacInnis
september 3 | 5 PM – 9 pmPat Johnson & Billy MacInnis bring together Eastern Ontario songwriting and East Coast fiddle fire. With warm vocals, expressive guitar, lively fiddle tunes, and roots classics, the duo delivers a dynamic performance filled with humour, chemistry, and strings working overtime.
River City Junction
SEPTEMBER 17 | 5 PM – 9 pmRiver City Junction is a Canadian blues and retro-rock power trio blending Chicago blues, Motown soul, R&B, funk, and classic rock. With raw energy, deep groove, and undeniable chemistry, the band delivers a vibrant live show rooted in passion and timeless sound.
Norbert Lepage
Norbert Lepage brings a warm acoustic sound and easygoing stage presence to the Square, performing folk, pop, and light rock in both French and English. With a repertoire of classic favourites and heartfelt francophone selections, he creates an inviting atmosphere for audiences of all ages.
